As two consent educators, we won’t force you to eat your vegetables, but we will tell you how to grow them! We met to talk about work and discovered our love of growing vegetables. Join us to learn about how playing in the garden can nourish your soul, improve your mental health and fill your belly with amazing produce! We’ll share everything you need to know to start your very own vegetable garden. The growing season will be here in no time. Let’s explore how to get started.

Dusty Johnstone
Best known for her work in gender-based violence work that dates back over a decade, Dusty can tell you the name of most roses! She’ll sheepishly but with passion recount the joys of the various varieties in detail to an eager ear. Dusty finds joy in the planning process for her vegetable garden, watching everything grow and sharing her knowledge and the importance of understanding the origins of our food with her son.Lara Hof
A secret to most, but well known among her friends, Lara has two green thumbs. Lara found peace from the heaviness of student conduct work through gardening and playing in the dirt! She’s been gardening alongside her mom since she was young and has now claimed a spot on the local garden tour and this past summer won her first community award.
