Keep Calm and Case Manage On is a space where case managers can gather once a month to network, discuss trends and best practices. Keep Calm and Case Manage on sessions will be hosted the last Thursday of each month and will have a different topic each time.

Session Summary:

In this workshop, we will delve into key concepts around gender and sexual diversity, how to support and advocate, and have open dialogue around some of the challenges you experience in your support-based role. This workshop is designed to help you navigate and identify opportunities within your current practice.

 

Presenter:

Blake Edwards has a wealth of experience supporting EDI and Gender and Sexual Diversity initiatives throughout Higher Education and community-based practice. Blake has worked in Higher Education for about 10 years, and currently is an Associate Registrar overseeing Admissions, Records, and Apprentice Services at BCIT. Blake has worked in Student Services, Support, Case Management, and Student Advocacy. He is currently finishing off his Master of Education in Higher Education, where he has led research projects on institutional decolonization. Blake has also played an active role in community. In 2019, he was the President of Kelowna Pride and oversaw the development of community based training, resources, and programming.
