CACUSS is excited to launch the New Professionals Institute in the Fall. This will be a virtual offering taking place over the course of six Wednesdays, starting October 30 and ending December 4, 2024, for two hours from 2:00pm - 4:00pm EST each session. 

Join the New Professionals Institute and join colleagues from across Canada on a developmental learning journey in student affairs. The NPI program equips new professionals (1-5 years in the field) with essential competencies, insights, and real-world problem-based learning crucial for navigating today's post-secondary education landscapes and student affairs work with confidence. NPI brings emergent thinking, leadership development, and problem-based learning to support new professionals in addressing the contemporary challenges of the profession. NPI offers a tailored learning experience designed to elevate careers in student affairs. Participants will benefit from personalized guidance and checkpoints with knowledgeable facilitators, ensuring impactful growth and development. Time: 

2 hours each day, starting at 11:00am PST / 12:00am MTN / 2:00pm EST / 3:00pm ATL

Pre-work: institute participants will be asked to watch one introductory video and complete a short one page reflection on core values and student affairs, in addition to posting an introductory discussion on the online forum (approx. 3 hours) prior to October 30. Participants will also be required to select a mentor who will support them throughout their journey. The mentor will offer guidance, feedback, and support in applying the learnings from NPI. This mentor can be a current or previous supervisor, a mid-level professional colleague, or a leader in the field of your choosing.

Non-member Rate: $789.00

The registration rate is for all six dates listed above. 

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be received in writing (via email) 1 week (7 days) prior to the event. No refunds will be issued if the request is received less than one week before the event. Cancellations received prior to 1 week of the event will receive a refund minus an administration fee. Administration fee for cancellation is $40. In extenuating circumstances, event registrations can be transferred to another delegate. Registration could be transferred to another delegate with a $20 administration fee.
