"Priorities", or how to move through "competing demands", are something we all face and wrestle with on the daily--as professionals, as parents, as people. They're ever present, and they're ever challenging. Why? Prioritizing is based on deciding and ordering "what's (most) important"--yet that's far from simple! It's not so straightforward to "start with what has the most importance". After all, what if there are many "what's importants"? There are plenty of tools that suggest we prioritize by way of urgency. Others that prioritize value--but who's? That question--of what to do when juggling, or struggling with, those many "important's"--is at the heart of this session. You will walk away with an all new way to meaningfully move through your list of priorities--one that is (w)holistic, ethical, and humane, and allows for the reality of *many* "what's important's" to exist alongside each other.

Adopting inclusive hiring practices can support staff and institutions with recruiting and retaining student and new professional employees. However, as equitable and inclusive hiring is a complex topic, it can sometimes feel challenging to understand what the best practices are, and where to start. This session aims to demystify the topic by sharing tangible strategies to shift hiring organizational practices and create a more equitable and effective hiring experience. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on and share their own best practices, identify at least one new strategy they can adopt, and will leave the session better positioned to implement inclusive hiring within their organization.
