Some people step into leadership and figure it out. Others get lucky...they find the right community, the right tools, and someone who believes in their potential before they do.
I was the second kind. And it changed everything.
Growing up across Iran, the Philippines, and Canada, navigating unfamiliar spaces, learning to read rooms I wasn't sure I belonged in, I developed something no credential could teach me. A deep understanding of what it feels like to be underestimated, and then transformed by the right community, knowledge and people who believed in your potential from day one.
Over 10+ years across public, private, and non-profit sectors, I kept seeing the same thing: talented people promoted into leadership for what they could do, then left on their own to figure out how to lead people. No map. No language. No one telling them that struggling doesn't mean failing.
That is the reason why I built The Unboxed Leader.
I work with emerging and mid-level leaders and their teams, using Lumina Spark to create something most workplaces don't have: a shared language. One where a leader goes back to their team and finally has the conversation they've been avoiding. Not because they have to, because now they know how. Where understanding why someone shows up the way they do, changes everything about how you reach them. Connect with the human first, and the rest becomes so much easier.
There's something that happens in a room when people start recognizing themselves in each other. When someone says "ohh, that's why I do that" out loud, for the first time. That's the moment I live for. And it's why I keep coming back to in-person facilitation: because some things only happen when people are in the same space together - it's an energy that no AI tool can replicate.
When people truly understand their strengths and know how to use them, THAT'S when their differences stop working against them and everything changes.
