This page highlights the recipients of the Excellence in Inclusion award recipients. This award honors members who demonstrate a deep and sustained commitment to advancing equity, diversity and inclusion throughout their career, and recognizes outstanding members who use their voice to make their campus, CACUSS, and the field of Student Affairs a more just, equitable, and inclusive space.

Quenta Adams, Assistant Vice Provost Student Engagement and Success at Dalhousie University has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to breaking down barriers, challenging anti-oppressive practices, uplifting and amplifying voices of people from historically and currently marginalized communities. In addition to her work in student affairs, Quenta serves in key institutional leadership roles, namely as co-chair of Dalhousie’s Accessibility Advisory Committee and co-chair of Dalhousie’s African Nova Scotian Strategy. Quenta co-initiated and currently chairs Dalhousie’s Accessibility Week, coordinating and facilitating a week-long series of events aimed at building institutional capacity and awareness of disability and accessibility. Quenta’s focus is to facilitate spaces where students feel they belong; to create and support opportunities for students to build and enhance their skill sets; and to build and sustain relationship with students, staff and faculty so they can stand in their own power, be heard, seen, valued and respected.
